About the Role
Catawiki is seeking a Ruby Backend Engineer to join our growing fintech team. You will be responsible for developing, testing, and scaling microservices to handle high volumes of requests on our platform. This role offers the opportunity to work on innovative product features and improve the user experience.
Key Responsibilities
- โDevelop and maintain scalable microservices using Ruby
- โCollaborate with engineers and product managers to improve payments, pricing, and financial administration
- โEnsure web components are responsive across desktop, tablet, and mobile screens
- โMeasure and monitor system performance to optimize product performance
- โWork with infrastructure as code principles and continuous delivery
Requirements
- โ5+ years of experience in software development with OOP
- โExperience in designing, implementing, and deploying backend services with focus on high availability
- โProven experience in collaborating with engineers in an autonomous team
- โExperience mentoring junior engineers
- โUnderstanding of the fintech domain
- โProficiency in web technologies including JavaScript/TypeScript, HTML, CSS
- โFamiliarity with libraries like ReactJS, NextJS, Redux, CSS Modules, Tailwind, and Rails
- โKnowledge of browser environment and HTTP/S, Critical Render Path, CORS, Caching, CDNs
