About the Role
We are looking for a Performance Engineer to join our ecommerce team, focusing on delivering high-performing and scalable applications in a fast-paced agile environment. This role involves designing workloads, automating performance measurements, and optimizing system performance through analysis and collaboration with development teams.
Key Responsibilities
- βDesign workloads and simulations to model application usage and establish performance benchmarks
- βMeasure system performance aspects including throughput, response times, and resource usage
- βAutomate tracking and publishing of performance results across software builds and releases
- βPerform root cause analysis for performance optimization and architecture improvements
- βDevelop and execute performance test scripts using JMeter, Gatling, and other tools
- βMonitor applications in cloud environments for resource contention and efficiency
- βCreate GitHub pipelines for performance test automation and integrate scripts into Jenkins
- βDevelop and maintain test strategies, scenarios, and key performance indicators
- βCoordinate with leadership to communicate performance metrics and service level metrics
Requirements
- βExperience in performance testing and engineering
- βExperience with containers and Kubernetes
- βExperience with Azure cloud environments
- βStrong automation and coding skills using Shell, Groovy, Java, C#, or other languages
- βExperience testing microservice architecture
- βStrong understanding of performance tuning for relational databases like SQL Server
- βUnderstanding of networking technologies including TCP/IP, DNS, and load balancers
- βMinimum 2 years experience with monitoring tools like Dynatrace, AppDynamics, or Splunk
- βExpert experience with Gatling and JMeter tools
- βExperience running tests using cloud testing tools like BlazeMeter or OctoPerf
- βExperience integrating performance scripts into Jenkins
- βStrong understanding of continuous integration, continuous delivery, and cloud development techniques
