About the Role
Blue Man Group Orlando is seeking a full-time Head of Audio and MIT to ensure consistent audio quality and technical reliability for their shows. This position involves managing the audio department, overseeing show coverage, and supporting various production and marketing projects.
Key Responsibilities
- →Ensure Blue Man Group values and artistic vision are supported across the organization
- →Serve as Audio and MIT Head of Department for BMG Orlando
- →Manage administrative duties including scheduling, payroll approval, and supply ordering
- →Maintain department budget and follow purchase order procedures
- →Ensure show coverage through proper staffing, training, and running show tracks
- →Support local PR and special event needs as audio point of contact
- →Respond quickly to show-related issues including technical problems and audio file requests
- →Serve as technical liaison between outside audio designers and Artistic Direction
- →Provide audio support including in-ears, mics, and speakers for rehearsals and techs
- →Assist with BMG outside events, press, and marketing projects
- →Manage and source audio packages through installation and execution
- →Implement and adhere to Health and Safety rules and regulations
Requirements
- ✓At least 5 years of experience in similar environment or theatrical productions
- ✓Experience working with Ableton required, QLab experience a plus
- ✓Effective oral and written communication skills with strong interpersonal abilities
- ✓Ability to work effectively in team environments with frequent deadlines
- ✓Organizational and analytical skills with ability to develop short- and long-range goals
- ✓Company member development and leadership skills essential
- ✓Working knowledge of Microsoft applications
- ✓Bachelor's degree in Audio Production or similar field, or equivalent work experience
- ✓Ability to obtain OSHA 30 course completion card
- ✓Fluent in English both written and spoken
- ✓Availability to work varied shifts including weekends and holidays
- ✓Ability to perform physical functions including climbing, crouching, kneeling, standing, and lifting 50lbs
- ✓Verification of right to work in the United States
