About the Role

The City of Fort Worth is seeking a Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) Programmer Analyst II to join the Strategic Operations division of the Water Department. This role supports the Central Environmental Laboratory by providing on-site LIMS application support and developing solutions to meet evolving business needs.

Key Responsibilities

→Provide on-site LIMS application support and resolve issues related to laboratory processes
→Develop and maintain queries, parsers, reports, and assist with LIMS system upgrades
→Ensure LIMS processes comply with regulatory agencies such as NELAP, TCEQ, and EPA
→Support day-to-day LIMS operations, system administration, and user training
→Identify opportunities to streamline workflows and improve LIMS efficiency
→Develop and maintain SQL or PL/SQL scripts for data validation and reporting
→Design and maintain Telerik reports for operational and regulatory reporting
→Administer LIMS user roles, access controls, and workflow permissions
→Provide technical support for Windows OS, Microsoft Office, and instrument connectivity

Requirements

✓Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Biology, Microbiology, Environmental Science, Information Technology, Computer Science or related field
✓Two years of experience supporting, configuring, or developing within a LIMS or similar data management system
✓Valid Driver’s License
✓Strong laboratory knowledge and understanding of sample flow, analytical testing, quality control, and regulatory reporting requirements
✓Ability to write and troubleshoot SQL queries and demonstrate aptitude for learning advanced database concepts
