About the Role
The New York City Police Department is seeking an IT Security Specialist to join the Information Security Office focusing on Application Security. This role involves overseeing the analysis, design, development, and maintenance of software functions and systems, with a focus on security.
Key Responsibilities
- →Ensure application teams follow security policies and standards
- →Ensure compliance with Citywide and agency security policies
- →Identify system application exposures and escalate issues
- →Provide secure application development support
- →Analyze and troubleshoot application security infrastructure
- →Implement application security threat modeling
- →Offer support to various IT teams regarding new technologies
- →Provide security design assistance on new products and projects
- →Define and monitor security compliance procedures
- →Monitor industry security standards and best practices
- →Define and monitor data security, confidentiality, integrity, and availability
- →Review and analyze design documentation for security controls
Requirements
- ✓Strong leadership skills to supervise teams
- ✓Experience with application security and software development
- ✓Knowledge of security policies and standards
- ✓Ability to analyze and troubleshoot security issues
- ✓Experience with threat modeling and security design
- ✓Understanding of data security principles
