About the Role
NYCHA’s Asset & Capital Management Division seeks an Assistant Project Manager to support the delivery of capital projects across the city. This role involves managing contracts, maintaining project files, and resolving issues to ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and with high safety and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- →Assist in management of contracts through all project phases - planning, design, procurement, construction, and close-out
- →Ensure comprehensive project files are maintained consistent with HUD requirements
- →Analyze and resolve project issues; conduct meetings with stakeholders
- →Provide support in preparation of Form of Proposal, track addenda, attend bid openings
- →Assist the Project Manager with constructability reviews, submissions, subcontractor approval, processing payments
- →Visit field sites regularly to assist in scoping meetings and resolve design/construction issues
- →Assist in obtaining required external approvals to ensure proper funding
- →May manage capital projects of routine to moderate complexity
Requirements
- ✓Permanent civil service status in the title of Supervisor of Electrical Installations & Maintenance
- ✓Experience in project management, contract management, and construction management
- ✓Knowledge of HUD requirements and project scheduling
- ✓Ability to conduct meetings with internal and external stakeholders
- ✓Skills in RFI response, delay analysis, and subcontractor approval
- ✓Experience with payment processing and bid comparison/analysis
