About the Role
The New York City Housing Authority (NYCHA) is seeking a Data Scientist to join the Analysis and Reporting Team. This role will play a key part in shaping analytical strategies and providing data-driven insights to improve environmental health and safety at NYCHA.
Key Responsibilities
- →Build tools to document observations from EHS inspections, ensuring comprehensive business requirements documentation and uniform data structure
- →Develop targeted reports, EHS dashboards, and data visualization models using PowerBI
- →Shadow Business Unit Specialists during field inspections to assist in creating documentation tools
- →Lead the planning and implementation of AEU projects
- →Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation
- →Prepare recurring and ad-hoc reports on EH&S program performance using Power BI, Smartsheet, and Excel
- →Perform data wrangling, exploratory data analysis, ETL processes, and advanced statistical modeling using Python, SQL, Power BI, and Excel
- →Develop, optimize, debug, and maintain data pipelines using Power BI and Smartsheet
- →Assist with establishing performance metrics and reporting cycles
- →Review portfolio data to identify anomalies and ensure timely corrections
- →Build and maintain a Data Quality Assurance (DQA) report
- →Provide DQA training to all users
- →Ensure tools developed by AEU are functioning according to requirements
- →Assist with monitoring and maintaining EHS Power BI dashboards
- →Maintain Product Change Logs
- →Assist with project management for department and agency-wide projects
- →Perform special projects, ad-hoc analysis, and prepare relevant reports and presentations
Requirements
- ✓Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- ✓Experience with data analytics, data quality activities, and data visualization
- ✓Proficiency in PowerBI, Smartsheet, Excel, Python, and SQL
- ✓Experience with building dashboards and data visualization models
- ✓Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
- ✓Strong communication and project management skills
- ✓Continuous improvement approach and strategic leadership abilities
