About the Role
The New York City Human Resources Administration is seeking a Computer Specialist (Software) III to function as a Data Protection Administrator. This role is responsible for managing backup and recovery systems across on-premises and cloud environments.
Key Responsibilities
- →Monitor and manage daily backup jobs across on-prem and cloud environments
- →Troubleshoot and resolve backup and restore failures across disk, tape, and cloud storage
- →Perform backup and restore requests for servers, databases, Office 365, and other SaaS platforms
- →Administer and support Veritas NetBackup, Commvault, and IBM Fusion environments
- →Maintain documentation and standard operating procedures
- →Support migration from Veritas NetBackup to Commvault
- →Implement and manage cloud-based backup solutions
Requirements
- ✓Permanent Computer Specialist (Software) Civil Service Title
- ✓Experience with backup and recovery systems
- ✓Knowledge of Veritas NetBackup, Commvault, and IBM Fusion
- ✓Familiarity with AWS and Azure cloud platforms
- ✓Understanding of security, compliance, and disaster recovery requirements
