About the Role
The NYC Department of Buildings (DOB) is seeking an experienced Network Engineer to provide operational support for its corporate network infrastructure. This role involves overseeing network monitoring, configuration changes, and issue resolution to ensure consistent infrastructure stability and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- →Provide technical expertise in Cisco WAN, LAN, VoIP, VPN, and WLAN technologies
- →Coordinate network operations for configuration, implementation, maintenance, and troubleshooting
- →Act as a technical resource for network outages and support tasks
- →Manage availability, service, and security requirements of DOB network infrastructures
- →Assist in managing data, server, and security systems
- →Resolve customer service tickets within SLA guidelines
- →Work with OTI to resolve network-related problems
- →Deploy and maintain network monitoring, analysis, and reporting tools
- →Coordinate network hardware and software
- →Create MOP/SOP and plan change management processes
- →Conduct performance tuning of network devices
- →Plan and upgrade network and security devices
- →Work with vendors to resolve problems
- →Provide guidance for network maintenance, repairs, and upgrades
- →Act as an SME SPOC for certain network products
Requirements
- ✓Extensive knowledge of network infrastructure and server technology
- ✓Experience with Cisco hardware and software products
- ✓Strong understanding of network operations, policies, and processes
- ✓Ability to proactively identify and mitigate issues
- ✓Hands-on troubleshooting skills for network infrastructure matters
- ✓Experience with network monitoring, analysis, and reporting tools
- ✓Knowledge of change management processes
- ✓Ability to conduct performance tuning of network devices
- ✓Experience working with vendors to resolve technical problems
