About the Role
We are looking for a Customer Solutions Engineer (CSE) to join our team at Cloudflare in Sydney, Australia. As a CSE, you will be the trusted technical advisor throughout a customerβs lifecycle, helping Enterprise customers understand and utilize the Cloudflare platform to its fullest extent.
Key Responsibilities
- βServe as a trusted technical advisor, help expand existing business, and ensure the success of our customers
- βWork closely with Customer Success Managers (CSMs) and other teams at Cloudflare
- βDeliver timely and organized onboarding for customers, ensuring they see the full value in Cloudflare's products
- βEnsure customer retention and expansion through relationship building and participation in periodic account reviews
- βProvide customers with clear proactive technical guidance and expertise across all our products
- βCollaborate with Customer Support, Engineering, and other teams to assist with technical escalations
- βProactively identify opportunities for expansion for existing customers
- βPromote retention by capturing and communicating gaps in product or features
- βContribute towards the success of the CSE organization through knowledge-sharing activities
- βTravel 20-50% to attend meetings with customers, conferences, and other industry events
Requirements
- β5+ years of prior post-sales customer relationship management
- βDeep understanding of how the internet works, including layers and protocols of the OSI model, such as TCP/IP, TLS, DNS, HTTP
- βExperience with reverse and forward proxies and their applications
- βKnowledge of security aspects of an internet property, such as Firewalls, WAFs, Bot Management, Rate Limiting, (M)TLS, Zero Trust
- βUnderstanding of performance aspects of an internet property, such as Speed, Latency, Caching, Video Streaming, HTTP/2, TLS1.3
- βDemonstrated experience with a scripting language (e.g., Python, JavaScript, Bash)
- βAbility to proactively identify and solve problems, then build sustainable solutions to prevent recurrence
- βTechnical curiosity and passion for staying up to date with industry trends
- βAbility to manage a project, work to deadlines, and prioritize between competing demands

- βUnderstanding of, or experience with, regulatory requirements such as PCI DSS, HIPAA, and SOC-2
