About the Role
We are looking for an Engineering Manager for the Gateway team at Cloudflare. This role involves leading a team of software engineers to scale security products and develop new features. The manager will be responsible for team growth, technical roadmaps, and service reliability.
Key Responsibilities
- →People Leadership: Mentor and coach a diverse team of engineers, fostering a culture of continuous learning, psychological safety, and high performance.
- →Technical Delivery: Own the end-to-end execution of the team’s roadmap, ensuring projects are delivered with high quality and align with Cloudflare’s long-term architectural goals.
- →Strategic Collaboration: Partner closely with Product Management and diverse stakeholders to define requirements, prioritize the backlog, and communicate progress.
- →Operational Excellence: Drive improvements in system reliability and on-call health, ensuring high availability for mission-critical gateway services.
Requirements
- ✓Proven Leadership: Experience managing software engineering teams in a fast-paced environment, with a track record of developing talent and leading through technical challenges.
- ✓Communication: Ability to explain complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- ✓Operational Mindset: Experience maintaining production services and a commitment to building observable, reliable systems.
