About the Role
We are looking for a Data Platform Lead to join Cobre, Latin America's leading instant b2b payments platform. You will lead the development of our data platform, which powers internal operations, AI and risk capabilities, and ships data products directly to clients.
Key Responsibilities
- →Assess and improve the current data stack (Snowflake, AWS, Terraform, Airflow, dbt, Kafka, ELK, Sigma) to support real-time client-facing products at scale
- →Build data infrastructure for decisioning, including real-time data pipelines and feature serving
- →Develop infrastructure for client-facing data products, such as real-time APIs and embedded analytics
- →Create an AI-ML platform layer for data scientists to deploy and monitor models in production
- →Hire and grow the engineering team as we scale
Requirements
- ✓5+ years in data engineering; 2+ years leading a team or major workstream
- ✓Experience building production data pipelines (Airflow, Kafka, or similar) with a focus on scalability
- ✓Real-time systems experience with streaming data, low-latency APIs, and event-driven architectures
- ✓Strong SQL and Python skills
- ✓Knowledge of modern data architecture and cloud data warehouses (Snowflake or equivalent)
- ✓Experience with AWS
- ✓Track record of shipping data products to external users
- ✓Leadership experience in developing teams and aligning technical strategy with business roadmaps
- ✓Understanding of fintech/payments domain, payment rails, and financial data regulations
