About the Role
We are looking for a Backend Developer to join our engineering team at Codeway in Barcelona. This role involves building and maintaining the services that power our mobile and web applications used by millions of users globally. You will contribute to highly scaled, performance-critical products where reliability, speed, and clean architecture matter.
Key Responsibilities
- →Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services supporting mobile and web clients.
- →Build and evolve microservices and RESTful APIs with clean, maintainable architecture.
- →Deploy, monitor, and support AI models and data-driven services in production environments.
- →Optimize system performance, reliability, and scalability across distributed systems.
- →Collaborate closely with mobile, frontend, AI, product, and DevOps teams to deliver new features end to end.
- →Troubleshoot, debug, and proactively improve system stability and observability.
- →Contribute to code quality through reviews, testing, and documentation.
Requirements
- ✓2+ years of professional experience in backend development.
- ✓Strong proficiency in backend development using Node.js and/or Python.
- ✓Experience designing and working with microservices architectures and RESTful APIs.
- ✓Solid understanding of databases, data modeling, and performance optimization.
- ✓Experience with cloud environments such as AWS, GCP, or Azure.
- ✓Good grasp of data structures, algorithms, and system design fundamentals.
- ✓Ability to contribute effectively in high-scale environments handling large volumes of traffic and data.
- ✓Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- ✓Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
