About the Role

We are looking for an Engineering Manager to lead the team that stitches together core cloud experiences in Confluent Cloud. This role involves managing Kafka UI, Tableflow UI, and Governance UI, ensuring cohesive user journeys for data engineers, platform operators, and governance stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

→Own the overall vision and execution for Kafka UI, Tableflow UI, and Governance UI
→Work closely with product management, design, and TPMs to build and drive the roadmap
→Partner with backend and platform teams to define clear API contracts and sequencing
→Raise the operational bar for the team by instilling strong execution practices
→Build, grow, and lead a team of engineers working on cloud UI applications
→Lean in technically where it matters most, participating in design and architecture reviews

Requirements

✓Minimum of 8+ years of software development experience with 3+ years of engineering management experience
✓Strong experience with Kafka, data streaming platforms, or data governance/catalog products
✓Technical expertise in large scale systems engineering or distributed systems
✓A strong track record of driving execution across multiple concurrent initiatives
✓Demonstrated ability to influence and align cross-functional partners
✓Experience hiring while maintaining a high talent bar, keeping engineers engaged and motivated
✓BS Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience
