About the Role
We are looking for an Application Security Engineer to join Confluent's security team. This role involves shaping and advancing the application security strategy across on-premises products and cloud services.
Key Responsibilities
- →Partner with Engineering, Product, and Platform teams to identify security risks and drive secure-by-design practices
- →Define and standardize threat modeling frameworks and security design standards
- →Serve as subject matter expert for product security implementation reviews
- →Architect and drive the roadmap for security automation
- →Design and lead deployment of automation frameworks for cloud-native deployment pipelines
- →Proactively identify new vulnerability classes and lead research initiatives
Requirements
- ✓10–12 years of hands-on Application Security experience
- ✓Comprehensive knowledge of security fundamentals for web applications and cloud-native platforms
- ✓Ability to partner with Engineering and Product leadership to embed security into core architecture
- ✓Experience leading technical investigation and response to security incidents
- ✓Proven experience evolving software development lifecycle to embed security by default
- ✓Experience in Go, Python, or Java for building security automation frameworks
- ✓Experience leading cross-functional initiatives in distributed environments
- ✓Data-driven decision-making ability to balance security requirements with business velocity
- ✓Ability to raise the organization’s security bar through architectural reviews and technical guidance
