About the Role

We are looking for a Staff Full Stack Engineer to join the Horizon team at CookUnity. This role involves leading technical initiatives, driving architectural decisions, and mentoring engineers as we scale our user experiences. You will work on building and optimizing backend services and APIs that power CookUnity’s experience, focusing on the Server-Driven UI (SDUI) service within our Backend-for-Frontend (BFF) architecture.

Key Responsibilities

→Lead the design and implementation of scalable backend services that power CookUnity’s personalization systems
→Define and drive architectural improvements that enhance system reliability, scalability, and maintainability
→Collaborate cross-functionally with Product and Data teams to provide users tailor-made content
→Mentor and guide other engineers, setting a high standard for technical excellence
→Evaluate and introduce new technologies, frameworks, and AI adoptions
→Improve system observability, performance, and resilience
→Contribute as a hands-on engineer, writing clean, well-tested, and efficient code
→Lead technical planning and project execution

Requirements

✓8+ years of experience in full stack/backend software development
✓Expertise in React, Kotlin, TypeScript, and SQL databases
✓Proven experience in architecting and scaling complex backend systems
✓Strong knowledge of distributed systems, service-oriented architecture, and event-driven architecture
✓Deep understanding of system performance and scalability best practices
✓Advanced English communication skills
✓Demonstrated experience in mentoring and guiding engineers
