THE TEAM
The Engineering team builds the core systems and user-facing platform that power Crosbyβs AI-first legal product. We work across frontend, backend, and AI systems to deliver fast, reliable, and intuitive experiences in high-stakes environments.
We prioritize speed, ownership, and product quality β holding a high bar for both technical excellence and user experience.
THE ROLE
As a Staff Frontend Engineer at Crosby, you'll play a critical role in owning and evolving the user-facing experience of our platform. Youβll be responsible for architecting and building scalable frontend systems while translating complex legal and AI workflows into intuitive, high-performance interfaces.
Youβll partner closely with product, design, backend engineering, and legal experts to shape the direction of the product and set the standard for frontend quality. Beyond building features, youβll define patterns, guide technical decisions, and help elevate the engineering organization as we scale.
RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Own frontend architecture: Design and build scalable, maintainable frontend systems using modern frameworks like React, TypeScript, and related tooling.
2. Build exceptional user experiences: Develop intuitive, high-performance interfaces for complex, data-intensive legal workflows.
3. Set technical direction: Establish best practices, patterns, and standards for frontend development across the organization.
4. Prototype and iterate quickly: Collaborate with product and legal teams to rapidly test, refine, and ship user-facing features.
5. Collaborate across teams: Work closely with backend engineers to design APIs and ensure seamless end-to-end experiences.
6. Mentor and elevate: Provide technical guidance, mentor engineers, and help raise the bar for frontend engineering at Crosby.
WHO YOU ARE
1. 6+ years of frontend engineering experience, with deep proficiency in TypeScript and modern frameworks (e.g., React, Vue, or Svelte)
2. Strong track record of building and scaling production-grade frontend systems
3. Exceptional attention to detail and a strong sense of user experience and product quality
4. Experience architecting frontend systems and making high-leverage technical decisions
5. Comfortable working in fast-paced, ambiguous environments and taking ownership of complex problems
6. Strong communicator who can collaborate effectively with product, design, and backend teams
7. Proactive, resourceful, and motivated to build high-impact systems from the ground up
IDEAL QUALIFICATIONS
Experience building interfaces for complex, AI-powered products or data-intensive applications
Strong design sense and experience working closely with design systems and tools like Figma
Experience establishing or scaling a frontend architecture in an early-stage or high-growth environment
Familiarity with backend systems or full-stack development (e.g., Python, APIs)
