As a Product Manager for Identity Security you'll be responsible for building cloud identity and access security capabilities for Datadog's Cloud Security Management product. Security teams today lack visibility into the thousands of human and non-human identities spread across their cloud environments, and cannot answer fundamental questions like "who can access this resource and should they?" This role will start by building a comprehensive identity inventory with a focus on non-human identities (service accounts, IAM roles, API keys, managed identities) and identity posture rules that detect risks like unused credentials, missing MFA, and overprivileged service accounts, then expand into effective permissions analysis and identity-to-resource mapping within Datadog's security graph. You will partner with engineers, designers, and go-to-market teams to define this new product area and drive customer adoption and revenue growth.
At Datadog, we place value in our office culture - the relationships and collaboration it builds, and the creativity it brings to the table. We operate as a hybrid workplace to ensure our Datadogs can create a work-life harmony that best fits them.
What You'll Do
β’ Define and build the roadmap for identity security capabilities within Cloud Security Management.
β’ Work closely with executives, marketing, sales, PR, design, and support teams to successfully bring new products and features to market.
β’ Develop a deep understanding of the market landscape and identify key areas of competitive differentiation and market disruption.
β’ Maintain and report to product leadership on key metrics regarding revenue growth and customer adoption.
β’ Work with engineers to help customers understand which identity paths in their multi-cloud environments represent real, exploitable risk, from discovering and classifying every human and non-human identity to mapping what each one can access and whether that access is justified.
β’ Work with product designers to create identity visibility and governance experiences for security architects doing access reviews, GRC teams running compliance audits, and platform engineers investigating access escalations.
Who You Are
β’ Minimum 3+ years in enterprise software, with a preference for security or cloud infrastructure background.
β’ Committed to high-quality products and customer satisfaction.
β’ Excellent verbal and written communication, capable of presenting ideas to technical and executive stakeholders.
β’ Prior engineering experience or deep understanding of cloud IAM, including how identity-based policies, resource-based policies, permission boundaries, SCPs, and cross-account trust chains interact to determine effective permissions.
β’ Familiarity with non-human identity management challenges: service account sprawl, long-lived credentials, overprivileged machine identities, and the distinction between cloud-native NHI types and federated/ambiguous identities.
β’ Regularly uses LLM-based tools like Claude Code and Cursor to accelerate your work, from drafting PRDs and analyzing data to researching markets and prototyping ideas.
β’ Driven to build and scale new products in a high-growth environment.
β’ Demonstrates strong ownership, data-driven problem-solving, and prioritization skills.
Datadog values people from all walks of life. We understand not everyone will meet all the above qualifications on day one. That's okay. If youβre passionate about technology and want to grow your skills, we encourage you to apply.
