About the Role
We are looking for an AI Deployment Gates Engineer to join Datadogβs Deployment Gates team. This role involves building AI-driven systems that evaluate customer deployments and ensure safe software releases.
Key Responsibilities
- βWork on the evolution of Deployment Gates from static rules to AI-driven decisions
- βLead the design of progressive deployment automation
- βDesign the foundation for autonomous remediation
- βBuild AI-driven deployment gates using CI/CD context and Datadog telemetry
- βOwn evals and rollout, defining precision, recall, and trust metrics
- βDesign for robustness and safety, implementing conservative defaults and guardrails
- βPartner closely with Product to translate customer problems into technical decisions
- βIntegrate across the Datadog platform with internal AI teams
- βOwn production systems, building and operating reliable backend services
Requirements
- β5+ years experience with backend systems and microservices performance
- βProficiency in a modern programming language with strong API/service design
- βExperience delivering LLM/agent features to production
- βComfortable owning user journeys and measuring impact with product metrics
- βUnderstanding of the end-to-end LLM product lifecycle
- βExperience with offline/online evals for AI systems
