About the Role
We are looking for a Staff Engineer to lead and evolve the automation and provisioning of our networking infrastructure at Datadog. This role focuses on building scalable systems to manage global networking infrastructure as Datadog expands worldwide.
Key Responsibilities
- βDesign and build automation systems to provision, configure, and manage Datadogβs global networking infrastructure
- βEnable one-click (and fully automated) regional bootstrapping, teardown, and validation
- βImprove the safety, speed, and correctness of infrastructure changes
- βLead technical initiatives that reduce manual operations and eliminate error-prone workflows
- βBalance reliability, security, and cost efficiency at global scale
- βMentor engineers and raise the technical bar across the organization
Requirements
- βBS/MS/PhD in a scientific field or equivalent experience
- β10+ years of relevant engineering experience, and experience acting as a technical lead
- βExperience building large-scale distributed systems in a production environment
- βStrong programming skills in one or more of: Go, Rust, C++, Java
- βFamiliarity with Cloud Networking (AWS, GCP, Azure), Kubernetes, Proxies / Load Balancers (Envoy), DNS and traffic management, Infrastructure automation tools (Terraform)
