About the Role

We are looking for a Workflow Platform Team Lead to join our AI Systems track at DeepL. This role involves leading a distributed team of engineers responsible for building and operating our central platform for implementing AI-based workflows that power DeepL’s Translate, Write, and Voice products.

Key Responsibilities

→Lead, mentor, and grow a distributed team of ~8 senior and staff engineers
→Define the technical strategy and roadmaps in partnership with your technical Product Manager
→Own the team's execution, delivery, and technical excellence
→Act as a central bridge between Research, Engineering, and Product
→Contribute hands-on when needed, reviewing code and analyzing metric data

Requirements

✓3+ years of direct people management experience
✓High level of hands-on technical experience in backend software development or research engineering
✓Proven experience designing, building, and operating scalable, highly available distributed systems
✓A deep commitment to the growth and well-being of your team
✓Strong execution and delivery focus
✓Excellent communication skills in English
✓Experience working in a company with hundreds of engineers
