About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced and innovative Privacy Engineering Leader to join the GDM Privacy & Technical Compliance team at Google DeepMind. This role will focus on designing and implementing cutting-edge approaches to privacy within the rapidly evolving landscape of Generative AI.

Key Responsibilities

→Drive the strategy for ensuring strong and uniform adherence to privacy commitments in the development of Google DeepMind’s AI models and systems
→Partner closely with Legal and Policy teams to interpret emerging global regulations and translate them into actionable technical standards
→Lead high-stakes Privacy Design Reviews for emergent product features and model capabilities
→Translate learnings from internal privacy reviews into actionable recommendations for central Google teams
→Work cross-functionally to steer the architectural alignment of GDM and Google product teams
→Contribute to and influence the development of cutting-edge privacy-preserving technologies
→Build an actionable research and product roadmap for GDM Privacy
→Influence GDM and Google leadership on the strategic direction of AI Privacy roadmaps

Requirements

✓Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Law, or related field
✓At least 10 years of progressive privacy engineering experience in large scale environments
✓At least 5 years of experience working with AI products
✓Significant experience working with complex policy and legal issues related to product launches
✓Track record of partnering with and influencing cross-functional teams
✓Demonstrated knowledge of privacy and regulatory domains
✓Proven experience with stakeholder engagement at the VP level
