About the Role

We are looking for a Software Engineer I Full Stack with a focus on frontend development to join our Navigation team at Grupo Despegar. This role involves creating solutions for business and technical problems, participating in design and architecture decisions, and maintaining applications.

Key Responsibilities

→Reveal, analyze, and develop solutions to solve various business and technical problems.
→Participate in design, architecture, and scalability definitions.
→Be the owner of the applications you participate in and their end-to-end lifecycle.
→Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code, following best development practices.
→Have a great capacity to solve problems.
→Identify and correct bottlenecks, solve errors, and improve application performance.
→Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback to team members.
→Convert UX/UI designs into responsive code (HTML/CSS/JavaScript).
→Monitor and maintain the health of applications.
→Design and implement RESTful APIs, integrate third-party services when necessary.
→Focus on scalability, availability, and maintainability of the platform.
→Propose new features and improvements on existing ones.

Requirements

✓Professional degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related fields.
✓+4 years of experience developing with Angular / React / Stencil.
✓+4 years of experience with JS / TS, CSS / SASS, and HTML.
✓+3 years of experience in backend development with Java.
✓Proficiency with non-relational databases like MongoDB.
✓Experience in the entire development flow including production deployments, deployment, testing, and post-implementation monitoring.
✓Deep knowledge in scalable frontend architectures, design patterns, and performance optimization.
✓Enthusiast and/or experience with AI tools.
