About the Role
Join Discord's Developer Operations team as our second analytics hire. This role focuses on helping game developers understand how building communities on Discord improves their games' success through data-driven insights.
Key Responsibilities
- →Build new analytics datasets by aggregating data across multiple sources
- →Analyze Discord SDK impact on games by examining player retention, engagement, and monetization
- →Own end-to-end analytics from requirements gathering through SQL-based analysis to delivering dashboards
- →Support ad hoc analytics requests for developer conversations and partnership decisions
- →Collaborate with product managers, data engineers, and data scientists on analytics initiatives
- →Create self-service analytics solutions for the DBO team
Requirements
- ✓3+ years experience defining KPIs and building new data points by aggregating datasets
- ✓Proven track record taking analytics vision from concept to implementation
- ✓2+ years hands-on experience with live ops analytics for gaming or large-scale live products
- ✓Strong SQL skills for complex data manipulation including joins, CTEs, window functions
- ✓Background in analyzing large-scale live products with millions of daily active users
- ✓Experience with data visualization tools (Looker, Mode, Tableau)
