About the Role
We are looking for an Engineering Manager to lead a team of security engineers at Discord. This role focuses on building and implementing application security tools and services, performing secure design reviews, and providing guidance on secure development.
Key Responsibilities
- →Lead a team of security engineers who will build and implement application security tools and services
- →Secure our code and development process from IDE to production
- →Scale detection and remediation of security vulnerabilities
- →Work with other Discord teams to limit security exposure to our users
- →Partner with Discord's product engineering and product management teams to champion new security features
Requirements
- ✓3+ years of experience as an Engineering Manager and have managed a team of 3+ Security Engineers
- ✓Experience programming in at least one general purpose programming language (e.g., Python, Rust, Go)
- ✓Development-with-AI experience and a good grasp of AI Security practices
- ✓Experience leading multiple security projects with a cross-functional group
- ✓Experience with tools used to automate vulnerability discovery and remediation
- ✓Experience operating in cloud-based environments (we use Google Cloud, but experience with other platforms is ok too)
- ✓Comfortable writing the roadmap - not just following one
- ✓Expert at reasoning about the security of complex systems
- ✓Experienced with Threat Modeling and analyzing complex designs
