About the Role
We are looking for a Senior Data Scientist to join our GTM team at Discord. This role focuses on building advertising technology that respects users while delivering value to brands. You'll lead data science strategy and execution on a cross-functional squad working with Product, Sales, and Engineering.
Key Responsibilities
- →Lead data science strategy and execution on GTM squad, partnering with PM, Sales, and Engineering leadership
- →Build the analytical foundation for Discord's next-generation ad products using first-party data from 200M+ monthly active users
- →Collaborate with product and sales teams to develop learning agendas and experimentation plans
- →Lead cross-functional data projects to deepen understanding of users, communities, and advertiser performance
- →Build plans to evaluate product performance, run experimentation, and share learnings with peers and executives
- →Apply 80/20 thinking to prioritize high-impact initiatives while championing user privacy and data governance
Requirements
- ✓5+ years of data science experience in ads tech, preferably in gaming, social media, or community platforms
- ✓Deep understanding of the ads tech ecosystem, including auction-based delivery systems and real-time bidding
- ✓4+ years of experience building dashboards using Looker or similar software
- ✓4+ years experience writing SQL with proficiency in big data platforms
- ✓3+ years designing, running, and analyzing A/B tests for large-scale consumer products
- ✓Experience with attribution testing, multi-touch attribution, and campaign effectiveness measurement
- ✓Experience working with first-party and third-party data, as well as attribution partners
- ✓Strong communication skills to translate technical concepts into actionable insights
