About the Role
Join Docker's AI engineering team to build the future of containerized AI agents. You'll work on cagent, our open-source project, to enable developers to build, deploy, and scale intelligent agents using Docker's container technology.
Key Responsibilities
- →Partner with engineering leadership to set technical direction and mentor team members
- →Build containerized agent systems leveraging Docker containers
- →Expand and maintain the open-source cagent project
- →Develop robust infrastructure for packaging, deploying, and managing agents in containers
- →Enhance agent capabilities with Retrieval-Augmented Generation systems
- →Design evaluation frameworks to measure agent performance and reliability
- →Iterate quickly on new agent capabilities and deployment patterns
- →Engage with the cagent community and review contributions
- →Collaborate with product managers, designers, and engineers across Docker's AI teams
- →Participate in on-call rotation for incident response and system reliability improvement
Requirements
- ✓Expertise in Go, Docker's primary language for backend systems
- ✓Practical experience with large language models (LLMs) and agent development
- ✓Ability to design scalable, distributed systems
- ✓Deep understanding of Docker, containerization best practices, and container orchestration
- ✓Experience building Retrieval-Augmented Generation systems
- ✓Demonstrated ability to prototype quickly and iterate based on feedback
- ✓Experience with AI orchestration frameworks like CrewAI, AGNO, ADK, LangChain/LangGraph
- ✓Proficiency in Python for AI prototyping and tooling
- ✓Experience with Kubernetes or container orchestration platforms
- ✓Open source contributions and community engagement
- ✓Experience with agent evaluation, reliability, and observability techniques
- ✓8+ years of directly applicable experience
- ✓Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
