About the Role
Infrastructure Engineers at Dropbox shape and construct robust systems that support flagship products and lay groundwork for engineering innovations. The Telemetry team owns and operates the Observability platform, empowering Dropboxers with insights to operate reliable and performant systems.
Key Responsibilities
- βBuild infrastructure capable of managing metadata for hundreds of billions of files, handling hundreds of petabytes of user data, and facilitating millions of concurrent connections
- βAssist in expanding Dropbox's role as the data-fabric, linking hundreds of millions of applications, devices, and services worldwide
- βMeasure and optimize Dropbox's analytics platform to maintain its status as one of the most advanced in the industry
- βCollaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance the performance, reliability, and security of Dropbox's infrastructure
- βOn-call work may be necessary occasionally to address bugs, outages, or other operational issues
Requirements
- βBS, MS, or PhD in Computer Science or related technical field involving coding
- β2+ years of professional software development experience
- βDemonstrated experience in building and managing large-scale, multi-threaded, geographically distributed backend systems
- βProficient in programming and debugging across Python, Go, C/C++, or Java
- βExperience working with operating system internals, filesystems, databases, networks, and compilers
- βAbility to independently execute tasks at hand
