About the Role
We are looking for a Hardware Support Engineer to join Dyna Robotics, a company specializing in general-purpose robots powered by proprietary embodied AI. This role involves ensuring the reliability and quality of robotic systems through hardware builds, diagnostics, and validation efforts.
Key Responsibilities
- →Independently fabricate, assemble, integrate, and validate robotic prototypes
- →Maintain and enforce hardware quality standards across builds and deployments
- →Perform detailed inspections and functional validation to meet quality benchmarks
- →Lead root cause investigations for system failures and drive corrective actions
- →Develop and execute comprehensive test plans for reliability and compliance
- →Design and fabricate assembly jigs, test fixtures, and validation systems
- →Support and optimize bench-top electrical system builds
- →Own setup, calibration, validation, and maintenance of teleoperation rigs
- →Serve as on-site technical lead during client deployments
- →Develop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures and quality checklists
- →Improve lab organization, inventory tracking, and sourcing workflows
- →Work closely with Mechanical, Electrical, Software, and Systems Engineering teams
- →Mentor junior technicians on best practices
Requirements
- ✓3+ years of experience as an Engineering Technician or Hardware Technician
- ✓Experience maintaining hardware quality standards in a lab or production environment
- ✓Strong experience assembling and troubleshooting complex electro-mechanical systems
- ✓Ability to independently diagnose and resolve system-level mechanical, electrical, and basic software issues
- ✓Hands-on experience with hand and power tools, high- and low-voltage systems, wire harness assembly, soldering, DMMs, oscilloscopes, and electro-mechanical devices
- ✓Ability to interpret mechanical drawings, electrical schematics, and 3D CAD models
- ✓Working knowledge of Linux, command line tools, Python scripting, and networking debugging
- ✓Strong analytical problem-solving skills
- ✓Ability to be onsite in Redwood City five days per week
Preferred Qualifications
- ✓Direct experience with robotic systems or automation platforms
- ✓Experience with structured quality systems
- ✓Proficiency in CAD tools
- ✓Experience with electrical design tools and PCB bring-up
- ✓Experience with 3D printing, machining, and rapid prototyping
- ✓Experience mentoring junior technicians
- ✓Experience in fast-paced startup environments
