About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled M&E Design Manager to join the Egis Transport Solutions MEPHFC Design Team. The ideal candidate will have experience in rail station building services design and coordination, leading and managing engineers to produce and deliver MEPHFC designs.
Key Responsibilities
- →Lead and manage a high-performing team, providing clear vision and direction
- →Manage internal and external resources to meet contract requirements and client expectations
- →Establish and manage Technical Assurance processes in line with project and client requirements
- →Control project programmes and develop mitigation measures for slippage
- →Manage CEM and CREs to ensure compliance with NR-L2-RSE-02009
- →Set and maintain high standards for design deliverables, ensuring clarity and risk mitigation
- →Review design documentation to mitigate construction risks at the design stage
- →Manage engineering team for production of design drawings, calculations, and reports
- →Manage production and coordination of design information in a 3D environment to BIM Standards
- →Manage CDM and CSM-REA requirements, ensuring risks are mitigated ALARP
- →Produce and maintain design trackers, meeting minutes, and RFI/TQ documentation
- →Liaise with Project Managers and Commercial Managers for project communications
- →Coordinate engineering activities for affordable solutions meeting programme requirements
- →Produce and issue progress reports and dashboards
- →Ensure consistency of deliverables across projects
- →Review and implement rail industry standards for engineering deliverables
- →Promote sustainable design and digital solutions
- →Share knowledge and innovation across Egis Group technical communities
Requirements
- ✓Experience in rail station building services design and coordination
- ✓Strong leadership and management skills for engineers
- ✓Knowledge of Technical Assurance processes and rail industry norms
- ✓Familiarity with NR-L2-RSE-02009 (Engineering Management for Projects)
- ✓Experience with British Standards, Eurocodes, and BIM Standards
- ✓Understanding of CDM and CSM-REA requirements
- ✓Ability to manage project programmes and mitigate risks
- ✓Strong communication and coordination skills
- ✓Commitment to sustainable design and digital innovation
