As Senior IT Systems Administrator 1, Information Technology Systems, you will be responsible for managing, optimizing, and advancing our IT infrastructure. About You
The ideal candidate for this role is an experienced IT systems administrator with a strong foundation in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field, preferably holding relevant certifications like CompTIA Security+ or Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP). With their advanced experience in IT systems administration, including extensive troubleshooting and leadership responsibilities, they are well-equipped to lead the strategic planning, design, installation, and maintenance of complex IT systems. Their proficiency in managing computer hardware, operating systems, virtualization platforms, and software applications ensures the scalability, reliability, and performance of IT infrastructure components. Exceptional critical-thinking skills, meticulous attention to detail, and a proactive approach make them adept at resolving complex hardware and software issues and proactively assessing and applying software updates, patches, and security fixes. Furthermore, their excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills enable effective collaboration with cross-functional teams and successful mentorship of junior IT staff and end-users.
What You’ll Do
• Assist in design, installation, configuration, and maintenance of complex IT systems, servers, virtualization environments, and associated hardware and software.
• Ensure the scalability, reliability, and performance of IT infrastructure components.
• Provide expert-level technical support to end-users, resolving complex hardware and software issues efficiently.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot and resolve intricate technical challenges.
• Maintain records of production changes and manage all maintenance implementations.
• Oversee user account creation, management, permissions, and access controls in compliance with company policies.
• Supervise and optimize onboarding and offboarding processes for employees.
• Maintain comprehensive records of hardware and software inventory, including meticulous license tracking.
• Document system configurations, processes, and standard operating procedures to ensure consistency and compliance.
• Implement and maintain IT security measures, including antivirus software, firewalls, data encryption, intrusion detection systems, and vulnerability assessments.
• Analyst role in security incident response efforts including remediations.
• Install and maintain corporate security services.
• Proactively assess, evaluate, and apply software updates, patches, and security fixes to maintain system stability and security.
• Manage corporate data backup and recovery.
• Collaborate closely with IT teams and other departments to ensure seamless IT operations and alignment with organizational objectives.
• Provide mentorship, training, and guidance to junior IT staff and end-users.
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree with 8 years of related experience or a Master’s degree with 6 years of related experience in a relevant field in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
• Relevant certifications such as CompTIA Security+, Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), or equivalent are highly desirable.

• Proficiency in managing complex compute and storage hardware, operating systems, virtualization platforms, and software applications.
• Exceptional problem-solving skills, meticulous attention to detail, and a proactive approach to IT systems management.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Service and team oriented, flexible, able to adapt to rapidly evolving goals and challenges.

The expected salary range for this role is $87,000 to $95,000 depending on skills, competency, and the market demand for your expertise.
