About the Role
We are looking for an Engineering Manager to guide a team responsible for a key portion of Elastic's Serverless Control Plane. This role requires someone who can understand the technical details of distributed systems while managing and mentoring a team of software engineers.
Key Responsibilities
- →Mentor a team of versatile software engineers, fostering a culture of performance, psychological safety, and continuous learning
- →Work with Product and Control Plane Leadership teams to translate business requirements into engineering achievements
- →Partner with the Technical Lead to facilitate technical discussions and drive the team to build balanced, high-quality services
- →Participate in the Incident Commander (IC) on-call rotation to provide leadership during critical service disruptions
Requirements
- ✓2+ years of experience leading people, with a focus on mentoring and talent development
- ✓Background in Software Engineering, SRE, or DevOps
- ✓Familiarity with Golang patterns and software engineering best practices
- ✓Experience helping a team plan its roadmap and forecast capacity in a fast-paced environment
- ✓Experience leading remote, asynchronous teams across different time zones and countries
- ✓Ability to explain technical strategy and progress to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
