About the Role
The Platform team at emnify plays a crucial role in enhancing developer experience and scaling productivity. As a platform engineer with Kafka expertise, you will take ownership of Kafka clusters and their supporting infrastructure, contributing to the continuous improvement of development experience.
Key Responsibilities
- →Design, build, and maintain the company’s multi-region, highly available, and performant Kafka infrastructure.
- →Manage and maintain the underlying infrastructure for Kafka clusters.
- →Continuously improve CI/CD systems and concepts to enable safe and efficient deployment of applications on AWS-managed services and Kubernetes.
- →Collaborate with product teams to implement new infrastructure and services, providing valuable insights and recommendations.
Requirements
- ✓Strong hands-on experience with managed and self-hosted Kafka services (streams, broker, connect), with priority to Strimzi operator and AWS MSK.
- ✓Good experience with managing Kubernetes clusters (EKS) with emphasis on performance and cost optimization.
- ✓Strong understanding of event-driven architecture.
- ✓Solid experience with CI/CD tools and pipelines (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Argo suite).
- ✓Expertise in monitoring, alerting, observability, and performance tuning.
