About the Role
Epic Games is seeking an experienced Senior Gameplay AI Programmer to work on initiatives in the Fortnite ecosystem. This role involves driving future gameplay AI features and collaborating with various teams to create innovative gaming experiences.
Key Responsibilities
- →Work closely with art and design to create and iterate on gameplay AI features
- →Experiment with game design and use rapid prototyping while ensuring strong architectural and algorithmic decisions
- →Drive, build, and maintain core AI systems in the Fortnite AI ecosystem
- →Collaborate with Engine AI developers to improve AI systems
- →Ensure high-quality user experiences across all supported platforms
- →Optimize and fix bugs in existing gameplay AI systems
Requirements
- ✓Experience developing games professionally and shipping AAA titles with AI experience
- ✓Experience working with AI systems (Behavior Trees, Finite State Machine, Pathfinding, etc.)
- ✓Strong C++ skills and the ability to code and develop AI gameplay mechanics and tools
- ✓Well-versed in games and the ability to articulate strengths and weaknesses in game design
- ✓Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- ✓Console/mobile experience preferred
- ✓Self-motivated, strong work ethic, and able to work independently
- ✓Creativity in problem-solving and the ability to think outside established solutions
- ✓Experience working on a live service game is a plus
