Overview
Esri’s Product Operations Team works closely with the Business Management, Product Management, and cross-functional teams to lead the product operations and release aspects of the Esri product portfolio. As a Group Manager, you will utilize your business and product acumen, operational leadership, project management, and collaboration skills to oversee product operations, including the drafting of authoritative documents (the “Productization Plans”) essential to the product lifecycle and release. You will bring strong process assessment and improvement skills with a proven track record of increased efficiencies and enhanced program design and innovation. You will also bring excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to influence decisions across teams and drive alignment on business and operational topics.
Responsibilities
• Set the vision and standards for productization plans across products and releases to drive consistency and release readiness
• Develop and execute an operational strategy aimed at improving scalability, consistency, and simplification of the customer experience across product licensing, delivery, and support, with clear ownership of team outcomes and contributions to broader organizational goals
• Align stakeholders on productization goals, requirements, metrics, and ownership so teams can execute successful releases
• Provide post-release consultation and guidance on licensing, business rules, terms of use, and feed findings into continuous improvement
• Review selling programs and provide operational guidance for product pricing, quoting, and delivery across standard and specialized programs
• Establish business guidelines and clear processes for product enablement, distribution, and compliance across global sales and partner channels in diverse markets
• Set product terms and entitlement rules (subscriptions, maintenance, trials, deliverables), and ensure consistent implementation across processes and systems
• Oversee Esri’s Early Adopter Community and operational readiness coordination, ensuring alignment of requirements across functional teams
• Lead and develop the team through clear priorities, coaching, cross-functional collaboration, and operational readiness
• Collaborate with executive leaders to convey the overall customer experience with Esri’s products and related technical details
Requirements
• 12+ years of experience as a Product Manager, Solution Architect, Program Manager, or similar role
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with ability to influence stakeholders
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and creative thinking skills with proven success in streamlining product release processes
• Ability to coordinate people and technical resources from multiple areas of the company and lead initiatives spanning product, business, and enterprise systems (such as SAP, Salesforce, subscription management)
• Demonstrated experience in creating project plans and guiding teams through successful project execution and digital transformation
• Knowledge of the software development process and release of commercial software and SaaS products
• Ability to analyze data to generate insights for the business and product teams
• Exceptional creative problem solving, with special attention to change management
• Ability to present to external executive audiences
• Ability to travel as needed, up to 25%
• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, Geography, Geographic Information Systems, Information Science, or related field

Compensation decisions and the base range for this role take into account many factors including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs.
