About the Role
Eucalyptus is seeking a Platform Engineer to join their team in the UK. This is a pioneering role focused on regional ownership of an established platform, supporting EMEA engineers and ensuring the platform scales reliably and securely.
Key Responsibilities
- →Support and evolve platform technologies for EMEA engineers
- →Maintain and improve cloud infrastructure (GCP) for reliability, scalability, automation, and security
- →Enhance developer experience through self-service tooling, automations, and workflow improvements
- →Provide guidance and solutions for containerisation and orchestration systems (Kubernetes, Docker)
- →Build and maintain infrastructure as code using Terraform, including reusable module libraries
- →Partner with local engineering, product, and operations teams to understand requirements and address regional challenges
- →Contribute to operational excellence and mentor engineers locally
Requirements
- ✓6+ years of experience as a software or platform engineer in a startup, scale-up, or product-led environment
- ✓Ability to code effectively in at least one modern language (Go, JavaScript, TypeScript, etc.)
- ✓Strong experience designing and maintaining cloud infrastructure on GCP
- ✓Comfort with Kubernetes, Docker, and containerised environments
- ✓Experience with Terraform and building reusable infrastructure modules
- ✓Understanding of microservices and distributed systems
- ✓Experience implementing and maintaining cloud security controls
- ✓Ability to communicate clearly with technical and non-technical stakeholders
- ✓Ability to work well autonomously in a global team environment
- ✓Understanding of operational workflows, logistics systems, or similarly complex business processes
