About the Role
We are looking for an Entry-Level Transportation Engineer to join our team. This role focuses on building a career foundation through diverse project experiences in transportation planning and engineering, with emphasis on early development of project management and technical skills.
Key Responsibilities
- →Conduct transportation analysis and write reports
- →Participate in meetings, including preparing presentations and public outreach materials
- →Handle project management responsibilities
- →Participate in professional organizations
- →Conduct site visits and collect field data
- →Explore the internal Research and Development program
- →Work on transportation impact studies, bicycle and pedestrian planning, access studies, and multimodal operations
- →Prepare design drawings from conceptual to construction-ready stages
Requirements
- ✓Bachelor’s degree or in-process master’s degree in transportation, civil engineering, urban planning, or related field
- ✓Coursework in transportation, engineering, urban planning, geography, math, statistics, or economics
- ✓Experience or exposure to field work, traffic operations analysis, signal design, or transportation planning
- ✓Experience with Microsoft Excel, GIS (ArcGIS, QGIS), and/or CAD (AutoCAD, Microstation)
- ✓Familiarity with traffic operations software (HCS, Synchro, VISSIM) or travel demand modeling software (Cube, TransCAD)
- ✓Programming experience with Python or R is beneficial
- ✓Previous work experience in an office setting related to transportation
- ✓Experience with technical writing and public speaking
- ✓Strong interpersonal, organizational, and problem-solving skills
