About the Role
Weβre hiring a Head of Creative Studio to build and lead Flexβs in-house Creative Studio, a lean team responsible for taking the Flex brand to the next level through on-brand, high-impact creative across all of our marketing efforts. The Creative Studio serves Performance Marketing, Lifecycle Marketing, Brand, and Partner Marketing, producing work across a wide range of media including paid ads, website and landing pages, lifecycle templates, video, copy, partner materials, event design, and other high-visibility marketing touchpoints.

In this role, youβll translate that philosophy into thoughtful design and storytelling, ensuring Flex shows up clearly, cohesively, and with high craft across every marketing surface.
This is a highly cross-functional leadership role that partners closely with Brand, Performance Marketing, Lifecycle Marketing, and Partner Marketing. Youβll work with marketing and creative leaders to translate strategy into scalable ways of working that enable high-quality creative at speed while maintaining strong brand consistency. Given our stage, this role requires a player-coach mindset, someone who can set creative direction while remaining close to the work to drive impact quickly.
This is a unique opportunity to build a creative studio from the ground up, operationalize a new brand, and help define how Flex shows up as we enter our next phase of growth.
This is a hybrid position with on-site expectations of 3 days per week in our New York Headquarters or 2 days per week in our San Francisco Hub. For candidates outside of the NY/NJ/SF area, you may be eligible for our relocation assistance program.
What youβll do
β’ Build and lead Flexβs Creative Studio: Establish and lead a lean Creative Studio made up of copy, visual design, and video talent, setting a high bar for creative craft, speed, and collaboration. Define team roles and workflows that enable consistent, high-quality marketing creative at scale.
β’ Set creative direction and standards: Define the creative point of view for Flexβs marketing surfaces, ensuring our work is emotionally resonant, visually cohesive, and grounded in deep empathy for our users.
β’ Own creative execution and direction across paid and owned surfaces: Set the bar for concepting, design quality, and storytelling across performance marketing, brand initiatives, partner campaigns, website and landing pages, lifecycle templates, and internal marketing assets. Ensure all work is on brand, effective, and aligned to channel goals.
β’ Operationalize Flexβs brand system: Partner closely with Brand and Reputation leadership to express Flexβs brand strategy and identity across channels in ways that advance specific campaign and channel goals while strengthening brand love and trust.
β’ Develop and support a high-performing creative team: Coach and develop designers and creatives, helping them grow their craft, sharpen their thinking, and do the best work of their careers while fostering a culture of ownership, clarity, and continuous improvement.
β’ Collaborate cross-functionally: Partner with Brand, Performance, Lifecycle, PMM, Product Design, and external agencies to ensure alignment, avoid duplication, and deliver a seamless creative experience across Flexβs marketing ecosystem.
Key qualifications
β’ 10+ years of experience in creative leadership, brand design, or marketing creative roles, with at least 3 years leading or building teams in high-growth, consumer-focused environments.
β’ Proven studio builder with experience building or scaling an in-house creative or brand studio, including defining operating models, workflows, and quality standards.
β’ Creative taste and judgment with a demonstrated ability to evaluate creative work, give clear and constructive feedback, and maintain a high bar for craft while working at speed.
β’ Brand and performance fluency with experience producing creative for both paid acquisition and high-traffic owned surfaces such as websites, landing pages, and lifecycle communications.
β’ Operational rigor with experience designing systems and processes that enable fast, repeatable creative production without sacrificing quality or consistency.
β’ Strong cross-functional influence with a proven ability to partner effectively with Brand, Growth, PMM, Product Design, and external agencies.
Flex takes a market-based approach to pay, and compensation may vary depending on your primary work location. Work locations are categorized into one of three tiers based on a cost of labor index for that geographic area. The successful candidateβs starting pay will be commensurate with their experience, qualifications, and Flexβs internal leveling guidelines and benchmarks.
β’ Tier 1 (NYC/SF/Seattle): $200,000β$250,000 USD
β’ Tier 2(Austin, Washington D.C. Philadelphia, Los Angeles, San Diego, Chicago, Miami, Atlanta: $180,000β$225,000 USD
β’ Tier 3 (SLC/All Other States): $170,000β$212,500 USD
