About the Role

The Financial Analyst will support the Marketing leadership team at GitLab, providing timely, fact-based, data-driven decision support to drive critical decisions. This role involves building and maintaining financial models, leading business reviews, and communicating financial performance to leadership.

Key Responsibilities

→Build, maintain, and enhance Google Sheets-based Marketing P&L models to forecast headcount investments, bookings, revenue, and margin performance.
→Lead quarterly business reviews, monthly forecast cycles, and annual planning for Marketing.
→Partner with Accounting during month-end close to validate accruals and reconcile key variances.
→Communicate financial performance, risks, and opportunities through clear reports and presentations.
→Manage workstream with guidance from senior team members, prioritizing deliverables and proactively escalating risks.

Requirements

✓Experience as an FP&A Analyst or in a similar Finance role, with a focus on forecasting, budgeting, and performance analysis.
✓Ability to navigate through the three financial statements and partner with Accounting during the monthly close process.
✓Experience in Google Sheets and understanding of financial models following industry best practices.
✓Excellent analytical skills and a passion for understanding business questions and industry trends.
✓Ability to present financial data concisely using detailed reports and charts.
✓BS degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
✓Professional certifications such as CFA or CPA are a plus.
✓Experience with financial systems such as NetSuite and Adaptive Insights is a plus.
