About the Role
We are looking for an English-fluent Data Engineer to join GoFasti, a Talent-as-a-Service company that connects developers from Latin America with global companies. This role involves building and maintaining real-time market data ingestion services and pipelines.
Key Responsibilities
- →Build a real-time market data ingestion service consuming streaming equity data via WebSockets from Polygon.io.
- →Handle high-throughput data streams covering approximately 1,500 equities.
- →Aggregate and organize streaming data by time slices for model consumption.
- →Implement redundancy mechanisms for data feed interruptions.
- →Deliver processed data to a C-based trading model running on AWS EC2.
- →Validate and maintain the existing historical data pipeline pulling options and equity data from S3.
- →Ensure historical data is updated daily for back-testing and model input.
- →Work with data from Polygon.io and CBOE flat files.
- →Instrument the pipeline with monitoring and alerting using tools like Prometheus.
- →Ensure system requirements are met for model operation.
- →Proactively identify and resolve issues.
- →Integrate with a position monitoring component syncing holdings from the brokerage account.
- →Coordinate with a DevOps engineer for Kubernetes scheduling and deployments.
- →Participate in weekly syncs with the CTO and team.
Requirements
- ✓3+ Years of experience as a Data Engineer.
- ✓Proven experience building real-time streaming data pipelines in production.
- ✓Strong proficiency in Go (preferred) and/or C (legacy system familiarity).
- ✓Hands-on experience consuming market data via WebSockets.
- ✓Familiarity with AWS services (EC2, S3) and containerized environments (Kubernetes).
- ✓Experience with monitoring/observability tooling such as Prometheus, Grafana, or similar.
- ✓Demonstrated ability to work independently and communicate proactively.
- ✓Comfort working in a small, fast-moving team with minimal oversight.
- ✓It´s a Plus
- ✓Prior experience in quantitative finance, hedge funds, or fintech data infrastructure.
- ✓Experience with Polygon.io / Massive.com APIs and data formats.
- ✓Background in financial market data (equities, options) and position management.
- ✓Experience with message queuing, stream processing frameworks, or time-series data aggregation.
