About the Role

We are looking for a Senior Data Engineer to join Goodstack, a fast-growing social impact startup backed by General Catalyst. This role involves designing, building, and maintaining robust data pipelines to power analytics and product features, while also mentoring other engineers and contributing to engineering standards.

Key Responsibilities

→Design, build, and maintain robust, scalable data pipelines
→Contribute to the dbt analytics layer and establish best practices
→Shape and maintain data platform infrastructure using Terraform and Kubernetes
→Lead adoption of data quality, governance, and monitoring frameworks
→Mentor other engineers and raise the bar on engineering standards
→Partner with product managers and business stakeholders to turn data into insights
→Collaborate with engineering team to embed data flows into product architecture
→Work with infra/platform engineers to design cloud-native systems

Requirements

✓7+ years of professional experience in data engineering
✓Deep expertise in SQL and Python with experience building production-grade data pipelines
✓Hands-on experience with dbt in production environments
✓Strong track record with infrastructure-as-code (Terraform) and container orchestration (Kubernetes)
✓Familiarity with orchestration tools (Airflow, Dagster, Prefect)
✓Ability to translate business problems into robust technical solutions
