About the Role
We’re hiring an experienced Senior Backend Engineer to help scale Grüns’ data and systems infrastructure. You’ll own backend services and business-critical integrations that power reporting, forecasting, and internal tooling. This role sits at the intersection of backend and data engineering, partnering with the tech team to build data products and cross-system workflows.
Key Responsibilities
- →Build and own backend services and system integrations across core business platforms including Shopify, Skio, Fulfil.io, and finance systems
- →Design, build, and maintain reliable data ingestion patterns using APIs, webhooks, and batch workflows
- →Write and maintain production-grade services primarily in Python
- →Productionize data products that support analytics, forecasting, and data science initiatives
- →Improve platform reliability across GCP, warehouse, and orchestration layers
- →Translate cross-functional requirements into robust technical systems
- →Collaborate with the Data team to improve dbt models and analytics workflows
Requirements
- ✓5-7+ years of experience in backend, data, or platform engineering
- ✓Strong proficiency in Python and SQL
- ✓Experience building and operating production APIs and backend services
- ✓Experience with data ingestion workflows using APIs, webhooks, and batch processes
- ✓Hands-on experience with orchestration tools like Airflow
- ✓Cloud infrastructure experience (preferably GCP)
- ✓Strong reliability mindset with experience building stable, scalable systems
