About the Role
The Managing Editor will play a pivotal role in shaping and amplifying the Faculty of Arts and Sciences (FAS) communication strategy. This high-visibility position will significantly impact how the FAS communicates its research, scholarship, and community activities. The Managing Editor will be central to developing the new flagship FAS storytelling platform, focusing on faculty, students, staff, and alumni.
Key Responsibilities
- →Assign, edit, and publish stories from a team of FAS writers, guiding daily story curation.
- →Manage, inspire, and mentor a team of writers to deliver engaging editorial content.
- →Develop and implement strategic communications plans in collaboration with the Senior Director, Editorial and Content.
- →Collaborate with multimedia and digital colleagues to distribute FAS editorial content across platforms.
- →Drive editorial innovation within the new platform, testing new ideas and approaches to storytelling.
- →Manage the storytelling platform’s approach to creative series and communications campaigns.
- →Develop strong processes and systems to support the editorial content process from assignment to publication.
- →Meet research embargo deadlines and work flexibly with schedules and platforms.
