About the Role
The Computational Policy Lab at the Shorenstein Center at Harvard Kennedy School is seeking a Software Engineer with specialized expertise in software development, generative AI, and data science. This position will contribute to cutting-edge research and development projects focused on AI in education and public policy.
Key Responsibilities
- →Independently perform complex applications/web development for large-scale research projects
- →Design and develop complex software systems with a focus on education technology and generative AI-based tools
- →Build, test, and deploy advanced algorithmic tools using machine learning and natural language processing
- →Lead and collaborate on technically challenging projects involving AI, machine learning, and large-scale experimentation
- →Contribute to the design and execution of randomized controlled trials to evaluate AI-driven interventions
- →Translate theoretical models into high-performance, production-ready systems
- →Co-author academic publications and technical reports
- →Stay abreast of emerging technologies in AI and computational social science
Requirements
- ✓Specialized expertise in software development, generative AI, and data science
- ✓Experience with web development, machine learning, and natural language processing
- ✓Ability to design and develop complex software systems for large-scale research
- ✓Experience with randomized controlled trials and empirical research methods
- ✓Strong programming skills and familiarity with GitHub
- ✓Legal authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship for at least two years
