About the Role
Heartbeat Health is seeking a Software Engineer to help drive the evolution of our virtual cardiovascular care platform. This role involves working across core systems to shape how data, services, and clinical workflows support patients and providers nationwide.
Key Responsibilities
- βDesign and evolve critical platform components that support care delivery, data interoperability, and operational automation
- βDevelop and refine APIs and service interfaces for seamless communication across internal systems and external partners
- βCollaborate with product, clinical, and operations teams to translate real-world needs into technical solutions
- βWrite high-quality, well-tested code with a focus on maintainability and long-term system health
- βInfluence architectural direction by contributing to design discussions and guiding system improvements
- βSupport a culture of engineering excellence through mentorship and code reviews
Requirements
- β5+ years of experience building and maintaining production software systems in a healthcare environment
- βStrong proficiency in a modern, statically typed language such as Rust, Go, or Kotlin
- βExperience designing and implementing APIs and working with documentation frameworks like OpenAPI
- βSolid understanding of distributed systems, relational databases (PostgreSQL), and cloud environments (AWS)
- βFamiliarity with service-oriented architectures and modular system design
- βExperience with CI/CD pipelines, containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), and monitoring tools
- βStrong communication skills and ability to work effectively across teams
- βA pragmatic, execution-focused approach to solving problems
