We're looking for an HR Business Partner who thrives at the intersection of strategy and execution. You'll be the embedded People partner for our EPDD org β Engineering, Product, Design, and Data β bringing both advisory depth and operational excellence to a fast-moving team that expects a trusted partner who can keep up.

These are the key ways youβll contribute and create impact:
Strategic Partnership (~60%)
- Serve as the dedicated HRBP for EPDD managers and senior managers β proactively building relationships, not just showing up in a crisis
- Coach leaders through performance conversations, complex ER cases, and difficult people decisions with speed and good judgment
- Partner on org health: use data to spot patterns, anticipate friction, and help leaders see around corners as we scale
- Support performance management cycles end-to-end β feedback, documentation, PIPs, and exits when needed
- Be an approachable and accessible partner for Homies across the team, when they need support or guidance on moments that matter in the employee lifecycle
Operational Excellence (~40%)
- Own leave management for EPDD employees across Canada and the US β accurate, compliant, and handled with care
- Support Canadian immigration cases, partnering with legal counsel and employees through the process
- Be the team's subject matter expert on Canadian employment law and market practices
- Use AI to improve how you work β automate what can be automated, build what's missing, streamline what's slow
π The Foundation for Success - These are the experiences and strengths that will set you up for success in this role:
- 4 β 7 years of progressive HR experience, with at least 1 year in a true HRBP seat β not HR admin, not systems, real business partnership
- Direct experience supporting EPDD or R&D teams β engineers and PMs came to you, not around you
- Real advisory instincts: you've shaped decisions, not just supported them, through pattern recognition, data, insights, and strong instincts
- Proven experience managing leave programs and immigration cases β you know the details and don't drop the ball
- Genuine AI fluency β you've built or improved a workflow with AI, measured the impact, and want to go further
- Strong Canadian & US employment law knowledge
- HRIS experience (Rippling preferred)
- Toronto-based and energized by in-person collaboration β Tues/Wed in office minimum
