About the Role

We are looking for a Staff Product Manager to join our Incubation team at Instructure. You will lead the integration of Athena, our AI learning companion, into our core ecosystems: Canvas Academic and Canvas Career. This role offers high-velocity innovation with massive social consequence, working at the cutting edge of AI to shape the future of education.

Key Responsibilities

→Evolve and execute the "Learner Agent" strategy, working with executive leadership to create a concrete roadmap
→Unify the agent architecture and drive B2C innovation for the standalone Athena app
→Orchestrate cross-team alignment between Incubation, Career, and Academic teams
→Drive research and thought leadership, measuring the pedagogical efficacy of AI tools
→Conduct discovery and stakeholder engagement with students, institutional admins, and faculty
→Champion "Realist" AI, distinguishing between theoretical limits and practical realities

Requirements

✓8+ years of Product Management experience, with at least 3 years in a Staff/Principal or Lead role
✓Demonstrated experience shipping AI/ML products, specifically those involving LLMs or conversational agents
✓Strong technical literacy in system architectures and trade-offs
✓Experience in EdTech or a strong passion for the domain
✓Proven ability to work in a matrixed organization, influencing teams without direct authority
