About the Role
We are seeking a highly motivated and talented software engineering intern to join our dynamic team at Intrinsic, Alphabet's initiative to reimagine industrial robotics. In this role, you will tackle interoperability challenges between open-source robotics ecosystems and our internal software stack.
Key Responsibilities
- →Investigate and map the architectural landscape by comparing industry-standard robotic execution models with our Intrinsic platform
- →Architect and develop an intelligent software translation tool that bridges different robotics ecosystems
- →Solve complex integration puzzles by designing logic that translates workflows and identifies high-level patterns
- →Define and build a new user workflow enabling developers to author robotic behaviors in familiar tools
- →Collaborate with experienced professionals in modern C++ software development
Requirements
- ✓Master's student in Computer Science or related field
- ✓Knowledge and proficiency in C++
- ✓Practical experience with execution models like behavior trees or state machines
- ✓Enthusiasm for solving challenging problems in full-stack software, AI, and robotics
- ✓Familiarity with at least one of: protobuf, bazel, XML, absl
- ✓Strong verbal and written communication skills
