About the Role

IonQ is seeking a Senior Engineer in Advanced Nanoscale Fabrication to architect Silicon-Vacancy (SiV) quantum memory nodes. You will work at the intersection of deep physics and high-end manufacturing, troubleshooting complex etches and collaborating with physicists to translate theoretical designs into high-yield fabrication flows.

Key Responsibilities

→Design, refine, and scale nanofabrication processes including Photolithography, PVD, and etching
→Operate, calibrate, troubleshoot, and maintain complex cleanroom equipment
→Drive innovation and lead cross-functional teams from concept to functional hardware
→Work alongside multidisciplinary teams and provide training on SOPs and tool usage
→Create and maintain detailed SOPs ensuring quality and safety
→Offer design-for-fabrication guidance and serve as a technical expert

Requirements

✓Extensive hands-on experience in Class 100/1000 cleanroom environments
✓Expert-level knowledge of Photolithography, PVD, etching, dielectric processes, and blade dicing
✓Proficiency in characterizing nanoscale structures using SEM/FIB, AFM, and profilometry
✓Deep understanding of chemical processes and safety protocols
✓Methodical approach to troubleshooting complex technical hurdles
✓Unwavering focus on detail, process repeatability, and quality
✓Ability to distill complex technical data and collaborate effectively
