About the Role
We are looking for a Back End Engineer to join the Credit Compass team at iwoca. This role focuses on building scalable, high-performing services that help small businesses understand, monitor, and improve their credit health.
Key Responsibilities
- →Design and implement RESTful APIs using Python web frameworks
- →Integrate richer data sources (Open Banking, credit reports) into the product
- →Build, test, and ship new user-facing features on the roadmap
- →Ensure accurate transformation of raw data into clear visualizations
- →Contribute to the full development lifecycle, from technical design to rollout
- →Maintain and support core systems, focusing on code quality and reliability
- →Monitor and troubleshoot production issues to protect user trust
- →Partner with Product, Design, and Data teams to understand customer needs
- →Write clean, well-tested code and engage in code reviews
- →Improve internal tools and CRM integrations
Requirements
- ✓Experience with Python web frameworks (Django, FastAPI, Flask, Starlette, Ninja)
- ✓Basic understanding of relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL, MS SQL, Oracle)
- ✓Experience delivering complex projects in a startup or scale-up environment
- ✓Strong verbal and written communication skills
- ✓Curiosity and product mindset
